The insulation on this terminal is translucent nylon that has been molded around the connector to resist deformation while still flexible for crimping. The insulation allows for easy inspection of wire and connection. Since the funnel entry is formed inside the insulation, the wire installation is easy. The terminal is acceptable in both automotive and marine uses.
